What diseases can be treated by Traditional Chinese Medicine?

Sohu Health Channel: At present, many medical institutions in the society are involved in the promotion of Chinese medicine departments. They all involve “Chinese medicine can treat all kinds of chronic diseases, difficult and complicated issues, etc.”. Is it possible for any traditional Chinese medicine practitioners who are bad or difficult to treat in western medicine to see it?

Well, the more complicated and untreated diseases are, the more they should look for Chinese medicine. From the perspective of the therapeutic mechanism of traditional Chinese medicine, what type of disease does Chinese medicine really have? We would like to ask Prof. Ping Zhou to give us an answer.

Zhou Pingan: There are many false advertisements and falsely false propaganda. It is purely to defraud people of money, and I do not know how many people are killed and the reputation of Chinese medicine is destroyed. The majority of medical staff hated it and hoped that the government would take measures to resolutely stop it.

Chinese medicine can treat various chronic diseases and incurable diseases. It does have some advantages in improving symptoms, reducing pain, and improving quality of life. However, we must never say: "Every western doctor can see good or incurable diseases." From the point of view of clinical experience, Western medicine does not look good and difficult to treat, and Chinese medicine is not easy to cure. Western medicine is good for treating diseases. The two are communicating with each other.

As for saying: "The more complicated and untreated disease, the more you should look for Chinese medicine." This is even more one-sided. Should be integrated with Chinese and Western medicine and give full play to their respective advantages. Someone asked: What is the mechanism of Chinese medicine treatment? In the simplest, most general words, there are four words: "corrective and flattening." To correct, first find the bias. What local bias is partial prosperity or partial failure?

This is a diagnosis. If the diagnosis is clear, correct it. Treatment of Chinese medicine is to partial correction. For example, if you have a fever, it means that the temperature is high. Use drugs or any other treatment to lower the temperature. The so-called “hot of the cold, the virtual complement, the real diarrhea,” is not biased, reach balance, the disease is good. There are many kinds of yin and yang, blood, water, fire, organs, meridians and so on. Through correcting the balance, "Yin Ping yang secret", the disease was cured.

Sohu Health Channel: What diseases are better for Chinese medicine treatment? Can you give a few examples?

Zhou Pingan: I personally believe that: First, a large number of sub-health conditions, dysfunctional diseases, and patients suffering, and Western medicine can not check positive results, so it is difficult to start. Through traditional Chinese medicine, Chinese medicine will receive satisfactory results, healing the sub-health state to the bud.

Second, some Western medicines are diagnosed with definite and poorly curative diseases, such as diabetic complications, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, collagen vascular connective tissue disease, pulmonary interstitial fibrosis, and some complications of advanced tumors.

Third, viral infections such as influenza, Japanese encephalitis, epidemic hemorrhagic fever, viral pneumonia, epidemic parotitis, viral myocarditis, viral hepatitis, shingles, AIDS, etc. There are advantages. Fourth, some common diseases, Western medicine can cure, Chinese medicine can also cure, Western medicine is effective, Chinese medicine is not bad.

Sohu Health Channel: It is generally believed that Chinese medicine is "slowly middle-aged", "do you see Western medicine for acute illness, and Chinese medicine for chronic illness?" Is there any advantage for Chinese medicine in treating urgent medical records?

Zhou Pingan: This argument is not comprehensive enough. I believe that traditional Chinese medicine has advantages in the treatment of chronic diseases and dysfunctional diseases; Western medicine is superior to emergency first aid and surgery. In terms of internal medicine, Western medicine has an advantage in bacterial infections, viral infections, Chinese medicine has an advantage, some difficult critical illness or combination of traditional Chinese and Western medicine. I would like to cite an example: In the winter of 1998, the influenza pandemic in Beijing was mostly a high fever. Western injections and infusions could not be returned for a few days.

However, in our Dongzhimen Hospital's flu counterfeit mixture, basically three medications are cured. This cannot be said that Chinese medicine cannot cure acute illnesses. ? In fact, Chinese medicine has been developed in the treatment of acute diseases. For example, Zhang Zhongjing's "Treatise on Febrile Diseases" in the Eastern Han Dynasty is his experience in treating acute fever. Which doctors in ancient history did not rely on the treatment of acute illness and severe illness?

In ancient times, there was a saying that “when a horse rushes to see a warm disease”, because of a rapid onset of illness and a rapid change in the temperature problem, it is necessary to urgently manage the illness. In my opinion, not allowing Chinese medicine practitioners to treat emergencies is to stifle traditional Chinese medicine. Chinese medicine practitioners themselves are not brave enough to treat emergencies.
